On February 20, Mr. Veaceslav UNTILA, the General Director of the National Agency for Energy Regulation met with Mr. Dumitru CHIRIȚĂ, the President of the Romanian Energy Regulatory Authority, in Bucharest, Romania.
The two officials discussed about the implementation of the Cooperation and Assistance Program between the two entities, as well as the new European Union legislative package “Clean energy for all Europeans.”
Mr. UNTILA mentioned that the current exchange of experience between the two authorities plays an important role in improving the Moldovan national regulatory framework. Expanding this cooperation through workshops and trainings will contribute to an improved staff performance in adjusting and harmonizing the national energy market rules to European market regulation standards.
Mr. Dumitru Chiriță added that the Romanian authority is open to expand the technical assistance in electricity and natural gas market regulation, control and supervision of licensed activities as well as the implementation of European directives.
Both sides emphasized the importance of working together in order to implement the best EU practices, taking into account, however, the existing realities and the need to accelerate the application of the approved regulatory normative acts.
