The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) monitors the process of examination of the draft Law on Lustration by the Parliament Committee on Legal Affairs, Appointments and Immunities and would like to inform the public on the following.
ANRE is an independent institution, which conducts its activity according to the legislation in force, and based on best European and international practices.
The current members of the Administration Council of ANRE were appointed by the Parliament following a public and a transparent recruitment process (contest) with the participation of officials from the Energy Community Secretariat, the EU Delegation to the Republic of Moldova and other academic experts and representatives of civil society.
The Energy Community Secretariat evaluation of ANRE activity for 2019 and 2020 (reflected in the annual implementation reports) demonstrates that during this period ANRE has shown a professional approach and high degree of expertise.
Therefore, ANRE classifies the public statements and accusations as - political pressure and direct interference in its activity, which is a threat to its institutional independence.
ANRE urges all political forces to refrain from unfounded and manipulative actions or statements, which are against the Energy Community law and the national legal framework.
