General Director of ANRE had a meeting with Ambassador of Romania to the Republic of Moldova





On September 9 2019, General Director of the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE), Dr. Veaceslav UNTILA, met with H.E. Mr. Daniel IONIȚĂ, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Romania to the Republic of Moldova.

 

The meeting focused on subjects related to the implementation of energy projects, which will contribute to the development of the energy sector of the Republic of Moldova. During the meeting, the two sides also discussed the interconnection of Moldovan electricity system with the Romanian electricity system through the back-to-back station, which will lead to the diversification of import sources of electricity and will provide quality services to final consumers in the Republic of Moldova.

 

Another subject on the agenda was the construction of the Iasi-Chisinau gas pipeline, a strategic project, which will lead to the development of the energy infrastructure and the possibility to import the natural gas from the European countries, ensuring thus the diversification of the natural gas sources and the energy security of our country.

 

The two sides discussed also about the upcoming conference - "Energy Partners - Global expertise, local opportunities ", that will be held in Chisinau on September 25, 2019. This is the first conference which will bring together the experts and the decision-makers from the energy sector in Romania and the Republic of Moldova. The goal of the conference is to facilitate the exchange of ideas and business cooperation.

 

At the end of the meeting, the General Director of ANRE, Veaceslav Untila has let the Ambassador know about the upcoming signing of the Cooperation and Assistance Program between the Romanian Energy Regulatory Authority and National Agency for Energy Regulation of the Republic of Moldova. The program is meant to strengthen and expand bilateral cooperation between the two authorities, with Romanian side sharing their expertise and best practices and standards in regulating the energy sector acquired as a member state of the European Union. This ceremony of signing of the Cooperation and Assistance Program will take place on September 26 in as part of the working visit of President of Energy Regulatory Authority, Mr Dumitru Chiriță in the Republic of Moldova.
