Mr. Octavian Calmâc, the Director of the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE), attended the 44th Energy Community Regulatory Board Meeting (ECRB), that was held in Athens, Greece.
During the meeting the ANRE representatives have presented the Report regarding the progress of the Republic of Moldova in transposing the Third Energy Package, which include the approval of natural gas network codes, the electricity network codes and other regulatory acts.
The Energy Community Secretariat representatives have welcomed the transposition of European Codes for electricity and natural gas in the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. Mr Janez Kopac, the Director of the Energy Community Secretariat presented an overview on the current activities of the Secretariat and added that at the moment the Energy Community is drafting the objectives for 2020-2030, which will include a new approach regarding the role of natural gas in decarbonizing the energy markets.
The event was also attended by representatives of the European Commission, European Union Regulators from Greece and Italy, as well as representatives of the contracting parties of the Energy Community: Republic of Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia, Serbia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania and Kosovo.
