ANRE and GNERC have signed a Memorandum of cooperation with CNERC

Today, May 3, 2023, the The National Agency for Energy Regulation of the Republic of Moldova (ANRE) and the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC) have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. The document was signed by Veaceslav Untila, Director General of ANRE and Davit Narmania, Chairman of GNERC.

 

The objective of the Memorandum is to establish and develop a direct dialogue on bilateral and regional aspects of energy market regulation and ensure an efficient exchange of information in case of emergencies or extraordinary circumstances that have an impact on the regional energy market.

 

ANRE and GNERC will jointly promote an appropriate regulatory framework meant to ensure the development of a fair, transparent and non-discriminatory market environment in both countries.

 

The parties will expand the bilateral cooperation, the exchange of information and experience by organizing periodic actions and events related to the regulation of electricity, natural gas and water supply and sewage market, as well as, licensing and control activities.

 

The cooperation includes the organization of working meetings, training courses and workshops to exchange experience on best regulatory practices.

 

The memorandum will enhance the cooperation between the two parties, encourage transparency and competition on the energy market that would eventually contribute to the well-being of consumers.
